Athletics - Athletics Highlights

Hi guys, I'm Rafaela, I'm from Brazil. The first time I looked at the school website, you could see how beautiful the school and facilities are. It's much more than that, though. You see they don't only care about your academic life. It is something much greater, you will build a great bond with everyone here. If you look here you can notice that it is a school that's not too big or too small. You are always part of something in the school. So, you are never inactive but never alone either.

I would say that if you were looking for a school that would put you into several things like clubs etc. this school would be perfect for you. You will never be inactive as I said, so you are always inside something here. Whether it's a club, volunteering or the diversity of sports. So, certainly if you don't want to be inactive this is the perfect place for you. It's also a place to build bonds with everyone because everybody here is family, they treat each other like family.

This definitely made me come here. In Brazil, we know that classes are separated. Here you will change classrooms. However, here for example, the class sizes are much smaller and you have a much more personal connection with the teacher, at least more than I had in my school. So, certainly it will make a big difference but at the same time it won't be huge. Because Brazilians are typically much more attached to each other. So if you come here you will feel a difference but not that much. I certainly think the best part here is that you will be placed in a room.

They will call each girl's name and you will go to a dorm room with her. From that moment on, you will create a very big bond with your roommate. They will be your best friend. From there it goes way beyond that, you will do your own laundry, you will make your own food depending if you are hungry in the dorm. It is the basic things, but you will be around all of your friends all day. I certainly think that's the best part here, living with your friends 24 hours a day. Certainly their fish and chips. I think it is very good. Here they have several clubs, that's what they call them. You will never be inactive, that I can guarantee you.

I'm in a club where we do volunteer work. I'm also a peer leader, I can talk a little bit about that out of school. You will always be doing something. So I ask you to always try to be involved so you are not inactive here. Definitely photos of your family and friends to decorate your room. At least I did that because you are creating a new environment for yourself, so bring your home here so you feel a little more at home. I would definitely say pictures, or a personal item that you miss daily so you can look at it and remember that even though you are somewhere else with another family, you will always be with yours.
